White Sulphur Springs has a lot to offer. Being centrally located in the heart of Montana, it is in the middle of three mountain ranges with an array of activities and local establishments to enjoy.
One of the most popular stops in White Sulphur is the Spa Hot Springs. The water is known for its healing properties and some people swear by it and start their day off every morning with a soak. The Spa does not use any chemicals and the pools are drained and cleaned every night. Rooms are often booked out on the weekends, so call ahead and make a reservation! They are constantly renovating and it is one of the best places to stay in town! If you don't want to spend money on a hotel room, book an airbnb in town and just drive down and soak for a few hours for $8.
Using pet basset hounds, Stanley and Leroy for inspiration, owners Barry and Chris Heidrich, started the Two Basset Brewery in 2016. With over 20 rotating beers on tap, there is always something new to try. I am not a beer drinker, but I am trying to be and the tap pourers let me try anything I want or new combinations to cater to my taste. They just came out with a new Blood Orange beer and it is SO GOOD. This is a must-stop in White Sulphur. I love to sit here on a quiet, Sunday afternoon and play cribbage by the fireplace.
My mom owns Bar 47 and it is the shit! The food is amazing... you have to try the fish tacos or pulled pork nachos. They are addictive. If you're feeling like really having a cheat day, splurge on the salted caramel sweet potato fries. They are smothered in spicy caramel sauce and sweet peppered bacon and it will blow your mind. Bar 47 often has live music and they are usually some pretty good bands. You won't be getting the best cocktail here, but you will have a hell of a time and visit with the servers or bartender. They are mostly locals and can get you in on some of the local gossips or recommend something good to eat.
The Jawbone
Last, but not least, The Jawbone. My child. It is such a fun asset to White Sulphur. It is often compared to Chico. People love to come down for the weekend and go to the hot springs, then come out for a nice cocktail or dinner to enjoy their weekend away. Before we opened The Jawbone, there was not really a nicer place for people to go out to or celebrate a special occasion. It is a little on the pricier end, but SO worth it! We have large portions, quality food and service, and a variety of things to try. We really value our customers and spend time trying to get to know each and every one of them. You are missing out if you do not stop here when you are in town.
